BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – A National Veterans Creative Art Competition Winner was honored today.
The Beckley VA Medical Center hosted the presentation for US Marine Corps and Navy Veteran Terri Eanes. Eanes received first place for her artwork in the “mosaic” category.
“It’s the kind of joy I get working on stuff, and making order out of chaos,” said Award Winner Terri Eanes. “It’s about as close as I can get back to being in service, that joy I get out of making order out of chaos. It’s humbling, you know? You’re proud of something that you made, but it’s humbling. You realize that it’s only through the grace of God that you’re able to do that.”
Eanes is the first recipient of a national first-place honor in this competition from Beckley VAMC.
