Beckley, WV (WOAY)-A heads-up for drivers and residents in downtown Beckley.
The Beckley Sanitary Board has announced a temporary road closure on Woodlawn Avenue, starting Wednesday, May 28.Â
The closure will affect the stretch between Neville Street and Earwood Street, where crews will be replacing sanitary sewer and stormwater lines beneath the roadway.Â
This work is part of preparations for the City of Beckley’s upcoming parking lot construction project in the area.Â
The closure is expected to last until June 5.Â
During this time, Woodlawn Avenue will be closed to through traffic; however, residents and businesses will still have access to their properties, although some brief disruptions and detours may be possible.Â
The Beckley Sanitary Board apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for the public’s patience as they work to improve the city’s infrastructure.Â
