BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Labor Day weekend was a little bit slower this year due to the pandemic.
While the weather turned out nice, there was no influx of crime in Raleigh County. The Beckley Police Department was no busier than usual over the past few days.
“It was a normal, routine weekend,” said Corporal Justin Hudnall. “There was no influx on any type of crimes or anything like that. It was slow and normal. Typically Labor Day weekend is not a busier weekend.”
Hudnall added that this weekend is usually slower compared to New Years or the Fourth of July.
