Beckley, WV (WOAY)-A Beckley man has been sentenced to prison after escaping from a federal reentry facility.
25-year-old Kishaun Andre Jones will serve four months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for escape after walking away from Dismas Charities, a federal residential facility in St. Albans.
According to court records, Jones left the facility without permission on August 2nd, 2024.
At the time, he was serving part of his sentence for a methamphetamine distribution conviction handed down in February of 2023.
Law enforcement located and recaptured Jones more than five months later in Greenbrier County, on January 14th of this year.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the sentence and praised the work of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office in bringing Jones back into custody.
Chief U.S. District Judge Frank W. Volk handed down the sentence.
