Beckley, WV (WOAY)- Sheriff Frank Priddy is commending the swift response of first responders after an autistic boy went missing yesterday evening.
According to the media release, members of the Beckley Police and Fire Department responded to a call to the Freedom Skate Park for a missing autistic child who wandered away from their mother.
Upon arrival, officers established a perimeter and a zone to begin searching based on the location where family members last saw the missing boy.
Beckley PD Officers requested the assistance of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, and K-9 handler Corporal R. Talley III and his bloodhound partner, Blue, joined the effort.
The Beckley Fire Department played a critical role by providing aerial drone support.
The juvenile was transported by JanCare Ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation as a precaution.
