Beckley, WV (WOAY) The Beckley Day Center has announced a new date for its third annual Keep Writing Your Story Festival.
The event, originally scheduled for July 11, will now be held on Saturday, September 19, at Freedom Skate Park in Beckley to coincide with National Recovery Month.
The festival shines a light on recovery, suicide prevention, and mental health awareness while bringing together families, recovery organizations, behavioral health providers, local businesses, and community leaders.
Organizers say the event is all about celebrating hope, healing, and reminding people to keep writing their story.
While the festival has been postponed, you can still catch the live musical performance on July 11 at The Daycare located at 2260 Harper Road in Beckley.
The free show featuring bands such as Ghoulbox, Shake the Dead, and Saints Over Salem starts at 6:00 pm with doors opening at 5:00 pm.
