BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Beckley ARH Hospital is providing no-up-front-cost COVID-19 testing at their clinic.
In the past, Beckley ARH has had pop-up drive-through COVID-19 testing, but this week they are providing it every day, Monday through Friday, from 10A.M. to 2P.M. Jeri Knowlton with ARH says it’s imperative people get tested now, especially with recent spikes in cases.
“Following the holiday and as we have seen these spikes, we thought that it was important that we open this up Monday through Friday from 10 to 2 to allow more opportunity, more people to come through and get tested,” Knowlton said.
The testing is no-up-front-cost, which means you won’t be charged at the site itself. However, if you have insurance you should still bring your card.
“So you do want to bring your insurance card, but if there’s a copay you will not be charged for that. And if you do not have insurance you will not be charged for that. What is important is that we make sure that people get tested.”
In the first two hours of the day, the ARH testing team had seen more than 30 people drive in to get tested. Knowlton says that ARH will continue to provide for the community as demand for testing potentially increases in the near future.
“ARH will absolutely be providing this tent and making sure that testing is available as much as needed in the coming weeks and months.”
Tests at these drive-though sites typically take a few days to get results back. According to ARH, in the time between getting tested and getting your results, be sure to wear a mask and protect others just in case your results come back positive.
The testing station is located at the Beckley ARH clinic on Stanaford Drive in Beckley.
