We have a few systems in the pipeline that we need to pay attention to. One of them is the one coming through Wednesday into Thursday. It does appear that it will start as rain Wednesday afternoon before transitioning to all snow by Thursday morning. This is an image of the European model around 8 AM Thursday that shows snow through most of West Virginia.

After that system Thursday leaves, there is potential for one or maybe even two systems behind that one. The first one looks to come through sometime Friday into Saturday, while the second one appears to be later on into the week. Because that potential exists, the CPC (Climate Prediction Center) has put some of our region under a Slight Risk (20-40% chance) of Heavy Snow from January 19th-25th. This is very far out, so it is something we will continue to monitor those trends.
Looking at the full 7 day forecast and we can see the most likely chance for rain/snow activity Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is still tricky to see how much of that snow lingers around before another system Saturday. Sunday appears to be a drier day, before the potential for another system that the CPC and models are hinting toward. Again, we will continue to monitor those trends and will have the latest for you!
