Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – We have another update on the Raleigh County animal cruelty arrest brought to your attention.
Yesterday, Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested the suspect 34-year-old Joel Lynn Dick in Naoma in connection with the case of animal cruelty.Â
Dick is reportedly facing charges in connection to another unrelated crime in Pennsylvania and is awaiting extradition.
According to a media release from the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, on June 5, deputies were dispatched to Naoma to investigate a report that a dog named “Roxy” had allegedly been shot by a neighbor.Â
Later that morning, dispatch received a call from the owner informing them that “Roxy” had sadly passed due to her injuries.
At that point, Animal Control Officer Feller and Cpl. C. Schack took over and began a death investigation related to the animal.Â
Dick currently faces charges of cruelty to animals and Use or presentation of a firearm during commission of a felony.Â
