Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Expect delays as power lines in Raleigh County are being improved this weekend.
In a press release from Appalachian Power, AEP workers, traffic Control and law enforcement are scheduled to replace power lines, and total traffic stops are expected. The utility work will take place at 1988 Robert C. Byrd Drive in Beckley.
By upgrading to bigger power lines, the service will be more reliable and support the electric load associated with new businesses opening in the area.
The work is set to take place between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, weather permitting.
