Active Weather Continues; Stronger Storms Tomorrow

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Showers and storms return to the region today, giving us a sloppy morning commute followed by a bit of a lull in activity late this morning. Scattered storms and showers will come back into the forecast later in the afternoon and evening, dissipating again after sunset. A storm or two may become strong, but anything severe will be to our east in Virginia. We’ll continue to see active weather through the week, so make sure to stay weather aware as the situation develops. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Tomorrow will bring another day of showers and storms through the day, but the brunt of it will be overnight Wednesday into Thursday as the cold front passes through. Isolated strong to severe storms are expected across the region with damaging winds and flooding as the main concerns. Flooding will be minor in most affected places, though areas hit with repeated downpours will see more intense flooding. Here’s a look at tomorrow’s severe weather outlook:

Thursday will continue the stormy trend after the cold front passes before storms finally fizzle out through the day on Friday. While chances are lower, we’ll still see scattered storms and damp conditions lasting until the weekend. From there, mostly sunny skies and around average temperatures will prevail for the weekend into the next work week. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
