RUPERT, WV (WOAY) – Greenbrier County Schools began handing out meals to their students on Monday and that continued today.
Western Greenbrier Middle School had a drive-thru set up where parents and families could come by to pick up a hot lunch for their kids.
Over at Rupert Elementary, Jenny Harden, the principal, was handing out the meals through a tray holder in the wall to limit contact.
“Well, our team always comes together because at the old Rupert Elementary we would have flooding at times and they all worked together as a team so it’s no different than what we usually are during any disaster or even just working with our kids,” Harden said. “They always come together and they always work together.”
Both schools along with the others in the county will be doing that again on Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and then Thursday the county plans to start bus deliveries.
