West Virginia (WOAY) The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) is now accepting registrations for its Adopt-a-Highway fall statewide cleanup.
The cleanup is set for Saturday, September 26, and volunteers will help remove litter from most state-maintained roads.
Individuals, groups, and organizations can participate.
Volunteers must be at least 12 years old, and the program provides garbage bags, gloves, and safety vests.
Registration is required by September 17.

Last year, volunteers logged more than 52,000 hours and removed more than 251,000 pounds of litter statewide.
