Fairlea, WV (WOAY) Those attending the State Fair on Monday, August 17th have an opportunity to help local students and save on tickets by bringing items for a school supply drive.
CEO Kelly Collins says the State Fair is proud to partner with Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County, and the discount is a great bargain.
“The State Fair partners with Communities in Schools on Monday; we actually have a school supply drive. So you bring in three school supply items or personal hygiene products, and you actually get rides and admission for just $25, which is a great deal as well.”
Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County will have a booth at the state fair on Monday, August 17th, from approximately 8 am to 5:30 pm. However, their annual Stuff the Bus campaign runs through August 24th, and those who want to help can do so in many ways. Supplies go directly to students and teachers in Greenbrier County.
Executive director Brittany Brackenridge says your donation can help local students feel prepared for a successful education.
“Anyone can help. And we try to make it as easy as possible… they can find the links on our Facebook page to our Walmart and Amazon Wishlist… you can choose to have that shipped directly to Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County. The other option is you can go and purchase based on our wish list, which is also posted online, and you can drop that directly to us or one of our partner locations that we have set up around the county.”
