Icing Potential Exists for Some Monday as More Rain Through Next Weekend

We are expecting a storm coming through the region through Tuesday. This storm is still very wonky when it comes to the ice and snow setup. Most of the area should receive rain from this, but some icing is still possible as far east as central Raleigh County. Greenbrier County looks to be the hotspot for receiving the most icing. Beckley itself looks to be on the freezing line, and wherever that happens to set up will determine who gets ice and who gets rain. It’s still unclear exactly where that sets up.

Here is a look at 10PM Monday which shows the bulk of the icing occurring across the Greenbrier Valley. The places that receive the most of this icing could reach up to a quarter inch of ice, but that would be isolated across parts of the Greenbrier Valley. All it takes is a little shift back west though, for the icing potential to be centered over Raleigh and Fayette Counties.

As we head through the rest of the week, rain potential will exist every day from Tuesday to Sunday. This rain will not be widespread for everyone, but it will be scattered throughout those days. No washout should occur, as there will be quite a few gaps in between rain events. Although, some areas from Fayette to Nicholas Counties could receive an inch or more of rain throughout the next 7 day! Look at the temperatures though! 70 degrees is possible for several days next week.
