Beckley Correction Center looking for escaped inmate

Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Law enforcement in the Raleigh County area needs your help locating an escaped inmate.

According to a media alert from the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation, on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Sergeant Dustin Rose received an email alert notification that 42-year-old Jason Eddie Pittman had allegedly tampered with the strap on his bracelet.

Sergeant Rose later made contact with Corporal Dean at the Beckley Correctional Center and learned that two officers were monitoring the strap tamper alert at the IHOP located on Harper Road in Beckley and confirmed Pittman’s escape status.

Jason Eddie Pittman is described as a white male, standing 5-foot-10-inches tall weighing in at approximately 190 pounds. He has brown hair, green eyes, a beard, and a mustache.

An active search is being conducted by the Beckley Police Department, and Beckley Correctional Center staff are actively searching for Pittman.

He is serving time on multiple charges out of Summers and Raleigh counties, including grand larceny, burglary, breaking and entering, and receiving stolen goods.
Jason Eddie Pittman will face felony cscape charges when caught.
