Beckley, WV (WOAY) Quick thinking by a Raleigh County deputy led to a man being saved from a frightening predicament.
According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, on December 13, Deputy S. Lilly responded to an emergency call along South Sand Branch Road,
Upon arrival, he discovered a man trapped beneath a vehicle and struggling to breathe.
Deputy Lilly retrieved a bottle jack from his patrol vehicle and began lifting the car, staying in constant communication with the man to monitor his condition.
The deputy was able to raise the vehicle enough for the man to roll free, allowing EMS crews to safely remove him and transport him for medical treatment.
Sheriff Frank Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton praise Deputy Lilly for his calm demeanor and decisive actions,
They credit his response as likely preventing serious injury and saving the man’s life.
