Youth Museum and Quota Club of Beckley invites community to give back and get creative with Empty Bowls bowl glazing event on January 19

Beckley, WV (WOAY) The Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia is teaming up with the Quota Club of Beckley to fight hunger through art and community service.

The partnership is bringing back Empty Bowls, a community-wide effort involving local schools, churches, and artists.

As part of the project, the Youth Museum will host a bowl-glazing event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, honoring the holiday as a day of service.

The event kicks off at 11:00 a.m. and runs from 3:00 p.m.

Organizers invite community members to stop by and paint handmade bowls to be given away at the Empty Bowls fundraiser.

The main fundraising event is set for Thursday, March 28, at The Place at 201 Templeview Drive in Beckley.

Guests will enjoy soup and dessert, take home a handcrafted bowl, and bid in a silent auction.

Tickets are $25 and available at the Youth Museum or through Quota Club members.

All proceeds benefit local food pantries.
