Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office will be out looking for impaired drivers.
According to a media release, a DUI checkpoint is scheduled for Tuesday July 22, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 12:00 am (Midnight).
The Sobriety Checkpoint will be set up on US Route 19 in the Shady Spring area of Raleigh County. As an added safety measure the checkpoint will be set up outside of the active construction zone area to prevent unnecessary traffic congestion for the motoring public.
Deputies will also be checking for proper registration, valid insurance documents and seatbelt violations.

The checkpoint is funded by a grant from the WV Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention.
