Secretary of State’s Office announces 1,181 new WV Business Registrations for June 2025

Charleston, WV (WOAY)- The Secretary of State’s office announces 1,181 new registered businesses statewide for June 2025. 

The top five counties in new business growth for the month were Pocahontas, Clay, Doddridge, Lincoln, and Jefferson counties. 

Raleigh, Kanawha, Monongalia, Berkeley, and Jefferson counties led the state in total businesses registered for June. 

The Secretary of State’s Business & Licensing division reports that West Virginia has registered a total of 14,177 new businesses in the last 12-month period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. 

Wirt County is currently leading all 55 counties with a 19.05% growth rate over the past year. 

Clay County led the state in the percentage of new business growth with a total of six new business registrations, a 2.11% increase.
