The Bash in Beckley is ready to rumble this weekend for all to enjoy

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)- Preparation for the 5th annual bash in Beckley is underway. All-Star Wrestling is excited to be back at the Raleigh County Convention Center.

They say this community is why they come back every year. Although it was one community member who got the ball rolling on this back in 2021.

“Well, it all started with Stephen P. New, who is a local attorney here in town. He’s a lifelong wrestling fan and is a sponsor of ASW. He contacted me and he said, ‘hey let’s bring something to Raleigh County. You know, Raleigh County needs wrestling because this is such a great wrestling town,'” explained Gary Damron, owner All-Star Wrestling. “This building has so much history in it for wrestling. [He] said, ‘let’s bring something big back,’ you know, and so we started the Bash in Beckley back in 2021, and here we are five years later. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger every year.”

When he says it gets bigger every year, he wasn’t lying, as over a thousand people come to watch. The bash this year will be bringing over 30-plus wrestlers to the convention center Saturday night. However, this event brings more to the audience than just a good show.

“The Bash in Beckley is a wonderful event to have an intimate meeting with your favorite wrestler,” said Damron. “You know, a lot of times you go to these bigger shows at WWE shows and TNA shows, you can’t interact with the wrestlers, you can’t meet the wrestlers. But here you’ll be able to walk up, shake their hand, get a photo and an autograph, and be able to spend just a little bit of time with each wrestler. So it’s actually a very cool it’s different, unlike any other type of event.”

If you’re interested in going, you can buy tickets at the door or on the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center website.
