It’s been a pretty nice Sunday across Southern West Virginia, but rain is going to be one of the main parts of our next couple of days. The risk of flash flooding exists from Monday-Wednesday, but Monday and Tuesday look to be the days we see the most rain in our area. Strong to severe thunderstorms are also possible on Monday, mainly storms capable of winds up to 60 MPH.
Here is the futurecast rainfall over the next 7 days from the European model, over 2 inches in the Greenbrier Valley and parts of our northern areas, with places further south potentially seeing 1-2 inches. Rain could total up more than projected though, if numerous thunderstorms “train” over the same areas. It could be a loud couple of days as well as thunderstorms are not completely out of the question.
Here is a look at the full 7 day forecast, one of the biggest stories of the next 7 days is the rain. However, one of the other biggest stories is the cool down that we are expecting. Some models have the low temperatures reaching the upper 30’s in places Friday and Saturday morning. That is something that we are going to continue to watch as the days get closer to see where models start to solidify on those exact temperatures. Friday does appear to be a dry day though, so football games will get off without a hitch! Just make sure you bring layers to the football games on Friday night as it does appear to be chilly!
