The Cabell County local nurse’s union’s fight for a new contract is continuing.
The nurses will hold a candlelight vigil December 14 on the front lawn of the Cabell Huntington Hospital.
They will be joined by labor, community, and faith leaders for the event, in hopes of bringing more attention to the needs of healthcare workers.
The contracts for nurses at the hospitals expire on January 15. They hope to have a new contract in place by the end of the month.
The union says that there are too few nurses for too many patients. Earlier this month, the union said that the hospital is dangerously understaffed.
