Princeton, WV (WOAY) The Mercer County Animal Shelter had a special visitor this week, and it’s great news for anyone looking to adopt a pet.
Community supporter Anthony Heltzel stopped by the shelter and is sponsoring the next 29 adoptions, which means those adoption fees are already paid.
Shelter staff says Heltzel works closely with the county’s animal control officers and wanted to help more pets find their forever homes.
If you’re thinking about adopting, the shelter is at 961 Shelter Road in Princeton, open Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon until 6:00 p.m.
Staff says stop by, meet the animals, and maybe leave with a new best friend.
