RONCEVERTE, WV (WOAY) – An COVID-19 outbreak at a baptist church in Greenbrier County has left many church members with the virus.
Graystone Baptist church, located in Ronceverte, has had an outbreak of COVID-19. So far, There have been 28 people that have tested positive and many other tests pending. West Virginia State Senator Stephen Baldwin says the outbreak has greatly affected the community.
“We have not had an outbreak; this is our first official outbreak. We had ten cases total through the first essentially three months of the pandemic in Greenbrier County, the whole county, and now the past four days, we’re at 28 additional cases. So yeah, this has been a significant outbreak for us, and folks are anxious about it,” said West Virginia State Senator, Stephen Baldwin.
According to the State Department of Health and Human Resources, the church will be closed for 14 days for cleaning.
