West Virginia (CNN)—Check your refrigerator or freezer to see if you recently bought ground beef at Walmart.
Over 16,000 pounds of Walmart ground beef has been recalled because it could be contaminated with e-coli.
The meat was shipped to Walmart stores across the country.
The recall affects several products, including ground beef patties and trays, ground chuck, and ground sirloin.
The US Department of Agriculture said you should throw the meat away or return it to the store where you purchased it.
So far, there have been no reports of illness.
However, you should seek immediate medical attention if you have symptoms of e-coli infection.
They include severe stomach cramps and diarrhea — and usually start three to four days after you consume food contaminated with the germ.
