West Virginia (CNN)-Yamaha recalls nearly 40,000 power adaptors because they may be prone to burns and fire.
The AC power adaptors were sold with the company’s digital pianos and music workstations.
The company says they can overheat and ignite, posing burn and fire hazards.
The model number for the recalled power adaptors is PA-300-C.
They were sold at music stores nationwide and online from September 2010 through November 2014.
The adaptors were also sold separately as a service repair part.
They were also built into certain Yamaha-brand Clavinova digital pianos.
The company has received four reports of the adaptors burning or smoking, but no injuries have been reported.
Consumers are urged to stop using and unplug the power adaptors and contact the company for a free replacement.
