Wyoming County woman arrested in reported hit and run

Wyoming County, WV (WOAY) – A Wyoming County woman is in jail related to a hit-and-run case.

According to a Facebook post from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Kayla Rodgers was arrested on Thursday, June 5, 2025, on multiple charges including Felony leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury, No insurance, Failure to render aid, Obstructing and Filing of a false emergency report.

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an ATV accident in Lynco, WV in which the ATV driver sustained serious injuries.

Upon investigating the incident, it was determined that the accident was hit-and-run. Deputies later found the second vehicle abandoned nearby that was registered to Kayla Rodgers. The Black Mitsubishi Outlander had front end damage consistent with that of being involved in an accident.

According to the Facebook post, investigators identified Kayla Rodgers as the driver of the car involved in the accident. She allegedly left the scene of the accident without rendering aid to the other person involved. Rodgers also allegedly called the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office following the accident and falsely reported that her car was stolen prior to the crash.

The ATV driver sustained serious injuries but is stable and in recovery.
