WYOMING COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – All Wyoming County schools will be closed tomorrow because of a skin-related health concern that school officials say they have received new information about.
Additionally, Wyoming East, Westside and Mullens elementary and middle schools will be closed indefinitely until they are fully cleaned by ServPro and Wyoming County Schools offers further guidance.
All extracurricular activities are suspended tonight and tomorrow, and school officials say they could be postponed for longer.
According to the school system, officials have not received a diagnosis for the specific skin infection involved.
“The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We understand that these closures and cancellations create an inconvenience for our families, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we take these additional precautions,” a public statement reads. “We will continue working closely with the Wyoming County Health Department and ServPro and will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available.”
