Wyoming County Schools closed for October 6 for dep cleaning as school and health officials investigate skin infection outbreak

All Wyoming County schools will be closed Tuesday, October 6, for deep cleaning of school facilities.

Wyoming East High School, Westside High School, and Mullens Elementary and Middle School will remain closed beyond today until further notice.

The district says those schools will remain closed until additional guidance is received from the Wyoming County Health Department and necessary cleaning by Servpro is complete.

All extracurricular activities, including practices and games, are also suspended county-wide.

Officials say there has not yet been a confirmed diagnosis identifying the specific type of skin infection involved.

The district says it will continue working with the health department and Servpro and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
