Wyoming County, WV (WOAY) – The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department is releasing details about an upcoming joint safety event.
According to a media release on Facebook from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, sheriff’s deputies will join forces with officers from the Pineville Police Department to conduct a seatbelt safety checkpoint on Friday, September 12, 2025.
The checkpoint will be set up at the old Board of Education Building in Pineville, WV from 6:00 pm to10:00 pm.
Officers will be stopping drivers to encourage seatbelt usage, traffic safety and reduce traffic related injuries and fatalities in Wyoming County.
The event is made possible by a grant from the West Virginia Highway Safety Program.
