WYOMING COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Wyoming County Commission recently completed an application for a grant to help fund the Hanover water project.
The project is projected to be $8 million total, and the application was for around three-quarters of that total. The application for the grant is being worked on by Region One and Region Two planning development councils.
“We did an application for a $6 million dollar Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) money for the Pilot project for Hanover water,” said Wyoming County Commission Administrator Mike Goode. “This is a pretty unique project because it covers two counties, two different county commissions, a public service district in Mingo County, parts of Wyoming County and the City of Gilbert.”
The project will serve over 200 customers throughout multiple areas if it gets funding.
