WVU Valorant team sweeps competition

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – The WVU Valorant team is making a name for itself.

They swept through regional competition, earning a chance to be showcased at the Red Bull Home Ground tournament at the historic Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

For the first time, the event will have a Dorm Ground show match between WVU and Fisher College, a showdown between the East Coast’s top collegiate Valorant rosters.

Since 2021, Home Ground has brought together the world’s best Valorant teams to show off the best of the best for the Valorant Champions Tour.

This is not WVU’s first time in the competitive gaming world. The Mountaineers have won back-to-back Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships at the Red Bull Campus Clutch and also competed for national championships in Dallas and Chicago.

Currently, they are competing in Division One and the NAAC Varsity Premier National Playoffs.
