Morgantown, WV (WOAY) – Scholars applying to West Virginia University can expect changes to the application process.
In early August, the new MyWVU Portal will become the front door for all undergraduate and graduate applications.
According to a media release from WVU, this will streamline and simplify the student experience with a single process for all WVU campuses.
The changes will start with the 2026 Spring term. Incoming students will use the new platform to apply for admission systemwide.
One goal of the new system is to eventually let prospective students receive personalized communication, seamlessly register for events and schedule visits.
The University is currently executing a multi-year plan to restructure the University does business, and improve experiences for students, faculty and staff.
With today’s changes to the higher education landscape, WVU finds it necessary to adapt. To remain competitive, the University made changes to systems and processes allowing them to be innovative in ways that support students and help them easily and intuitively navigate WVU admission processes.
Staff will be trained in the coming months for the transition to the Salesforce Learner Org platform. Undergraduate college recruiters, WVU Potomac State College, WVU Tech and WVU Online can expect to receive training between May and July. Those involved with the graduate-level “out to department” process will be trained in early September.
WVU plans to decommission the old TargetX admissions application in late August. Licensed staff will still have access to the system through December, and some employees may be working in both systems for a short period.
