WVU Tech Swept on the Road

WOAY – WVU Tech basketball resumed River States conference play Thursday night at Indiana University Southeast, but the Golden Bears were swept in a doubleheader with the Grenadiers.

The Golden Bear men entered their matchup looking for a return to winning ways after losing three of four entering the contest. However, after leading 37-33 at halftime, they lost momentum in the second half as IU Southeast won 74-66. Brandon Shingles led WVU Tech with 28 points off the bench, while Michael Scott scored 15 points.

The Lady Golden Bears were looking to remain unbeaten in RSC play, after their win streak ended Sunday against Indiana Tech. However, the Grenadier women also had a strong second half in their 80-54, with 48 points coming in the final two quarters. Savannah Shamblin led WVU Tech with 14 points, while Brittney Justice had nine points.

WVU Tech continues conference play Saturday at Brescia.
