Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) Associate Professor of forensic investigation Andrew Wheeler at WVU Tech has earned the Certified Forensic Interviewer designation, or CFI, from the International Association of Interviewers.
According to WVU Tech, this credential is the global standard for forensic interviewing expertise, requiring significant investigative knowledge, rigorous examination, and continuing education.
Wheeler says that gathering reliable information through ethical, evidence-based practices is essential to the pursuit of justice, and the designation reflects his commitment to bringing best practices to the classroom and the field.
Wheeler says Tech has had numerous students go on to investigative agencies, including the FBI. He hopes to better prepare students for future careers in forensic science, law enforcement, intelligence, and investigative professions.
