WVU Nursing expands Faith Community Nursing program to five counties thanks to Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation funding

West Virginia (WOAY)- Thanks to generous funding from The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, the West Virginia University School of Nursing is expanding its Faith Community Nursing program into five additional counties.

Nurses from Kanawha, Putnam, Boone, Clay, and Fayette counties are now eligible for full scholarships to the all-online, 8-week course starting September 15.

Faith Community Nursing trains nurses to provide holistic care, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual health in faith-based and community settings.

Trained nurses become health educators and advocates, often working in churches and nonprofits to promote wellness and connect people to critical resources.
