Princeton, WV (WOAY) WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital is expanding access to pediatric sleep medicine through a new partnership with internationally recognized sleep specialist Dr. David Gozal.
Hospital officials say the collaboration will allow children and adolescents across southern West Virginia and Southwest Virginia to receive specialized sleep evaluations and follow-up care closer to home.
Children referred for care can undergo testing through the hospital’s Sleep Lab, while Dr. Gozal will interpret studies, develop treatment recommendations, and provide consultations through telemedicine.
Sleep disorders in children can impact learning, behavior, growth, and overall health.
Symptoms may include chronic snoring, breathing pauses during sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, attention difficulties, and academic challenges.
Hospital leaders say the partnership will improve access to specialty care while also supporting local healthcare providers with nationally recognized expertise.
