Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) Bonnie’s Bus is stopping in Fayette County this week, offering three-dimensional screening mammograms and breast care education.
The mobile unit from WVU Medicine and the WVU Cancer Institute will be at New River Health in Oak Hill on Friday, May 22, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Screenings are billed to insurance when available, but financial assistance is offered for those who qualify.
Uninsured patients age 40 and older may also be eligible for free mammograms through grant funding.
Since 2009, Bonnie’s Bus has provided more than 34,000 screenings across West Virginia, helping detect more than 200 cases of breast cancer.
Appointments are required, and a physician’s order is needed.
