WVU Advances to Big 12 Semifinals

WOAY – West Virginia men’s basketball is headed to the Big 12 Tournament semifinals after a 78-65 win over Baylor Thursday in Kansas City.

The Mountaineers used momentum to extend a six-point halftime lead to double digits early in the second half. Esa Ahmad led the way with 21 points, while Daxter Miles Jr. contributed 19 and Jevon Carter recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

West Virginia has now won six of its last seven over Baylor. The Mountaineers face Texas Tech, who they split the regular season series with, on Friday. Kansas & Kansas State will play in the second semifinal.
