West Virginia (WOAY)- The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) is inviting all middle and high school students across the mountain state to participate in the 2025 WV Bridge Design and Build contest.
The WVDOT has hosted the contest for more than 20 years.
The competition focuses on engineering, using real-world design principles in software with which students design their bridges.
However, the contest is not just for students who already feel they would be good at engineering.
The department wants to let students know it’s okay to be a beginner and encourage them to try new things.
The contest’s goal is to teach students about engineering by meeting them where they are.
Students have until February 28 to submit qualifying round entries.
Registration is free and you can sign up at wvbridgedesignandbuildcontest.com.
