WVDNR releases 2026 Fishing Regulations Summary

Charleston,WV (WOAY) The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources has released the state’s 2026 fishing regulations summary.

WVDNR director Brett McMillion says reviewing the regulations each year helps protect West Virginia’s fisheries and encourages anglers to renew their licenses early so they’re ready when the new regulations take effect January 1.

Printed copies of the regulations will be available in January at WVDNR district offices and authorized license agents statewide.

Anglers 15 and older are required to have a valid West Virginia fishing license and photo identification while fishing.

Trout stamps are also required when fishing for trout.
