West Virginia (WOAY)- The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) announces the return of Gold Rush stockings at 69 lakes and streams around the state starting April 1.
From April 1 to 12, the WVDNR will stock more than 50,000 golden rainbow trout in 69 lakes and streams statewide, including waters in or near 15 state parks and forests.
One hundred of those fish will have a numbered yellow tag.
If an angler catches a golden trout with a tag, they can enter the tag number online to win one of several prizes.
All anglers with a valid fishing license and trout stamp who report their catch during the event are eligible to win a gift bag.
Random drawings will determine the other winners.
All anglers 15 and older must have a West Virginia fishing license, a current trout stamp, and a valid form of identification while fishing during the Gold Rush.

Licenses and stamps are available for purchase at WVfish.com.
