West Virginia (WOAY)- The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is giving hunters a special chance this season.
Applications are now open for limited permit areas during the 2025 antlerless deer season.
Hunters can apply online at WVhunt.com through midnight on September 5.Â
WVDNR Director Brett McMillion says these lottery hunts not only support West Virginia’s hunting heritage but also help manage deer populations across the state. Â
A limited number of permits, Class N for residents and Class NN for nonresidents, will be issued for 10 select counties and public lands, including Camp Creek State Forest, Greenbrier State Forest, and areas in Randolph, Kanawha, and Webster counties.Â
Applicants can apply as individuals or in groups, and can check their application status online starting September 15.Â
The DNR is also accepting entries for controlled hunts at several state parks, with a $15 fee per application.
That deadline is August 31, with winners announced in early September.Â
