WVDA to conduct aerial black fly suppression treatment on September 17

West Virginia (WOAY)-The West Virginia Department of Agriculture will conduct aerial treatments to biologically suppress black flies on the Greenbrier, New, and Bluestone rivers on Wednesday, September 17.  

The Department of Agriculture uses BTI, a natural bacterium found in dirt.  

There are no chemicals used and no danger to anything except black flies. 

Treatments are subject to change depending on weather conditions and water levels.
