Beckley, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia State Police are announcing plans for an upcoming Sobriety Checkpoint in Raleigh County.
According to a media release, the DUI Checkpoint take place on Friday, July 18, 2025, along US Rt. 19, near the intersection with WV Rt. 41 (Johnstown Road), in the Beckley area of Raleigh County. The checkpoint will be in operation from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the dangers and consequences of operating a vehicle while under the influence of
alcohol and/or drugs. The public is urged to assist law enforcement in preventing drunk driving by reporting impaired drivers to local West Virginia State Police Detachments, Crime Stoppers of West Virginia or any law enforcement agencies.
