WV Public Service Commission to hold public comment hearing regarding West Virginia American Water’s proposed water and sewer rate increases

Charleston, WV (WOAY) The Public Service Commission of West Virginia (PSC) will hold a public comment hearing on December 15 on proposed water and sewer rate increases from West Virginia American Water Company. 

The utility is seeking approval of a $46 million water rate increase and a $1.4 million sewer rate increase.

The company plans to implement the changes over a two-year period, starting in March 2026, with a second phase in March 2027. 

An evidentiary hearing on the rate cases is already underway this week. 

Customers who want to weigh in can attend a public comment hearing on December 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Public Service Commission headquarters in Charleston.

All comments should reference Case Numbers 25-0426-W-42-T and 25-0428-S-42-T.
