Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – Governor Patrick Morrisey has announced that the West Virginia National Guard’s mission in D.C. will continue throughout the remainder of the year to support public safety operations at the Capitol.
The WV National Guard has been in D.C. since August 2025.
This continues the history of the state’s national guard’s service in domestic and overseas missions, responding to emergencies and defending national priorities.
