Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Trailing the East division leaders 3-0 after three innings, the West Virginia Miners rallied to win 10-5 and take a three-game series with the Champion City Kings Thursday night in Beckley.
A seven-run 6th inning was the key for the Miners, who were led by home runs from Austin Norman and Greenbrier East alum Colby Johnson.
PikeView alum Levi Nash pitched three scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
The Miners are now 1.5 games behind the Kings for the division lead. They visit second-place Chillicothe this weekend, before hosting Champion City for two more games Tuesday and Wednesday.
