WV Miners Clinch Playoff Berth

WOAY – After a rough start to the 2017 season, the West Virginia Miners are back in the Prospect League playoffs.

Tim Epling’s team won 8-2 at Champion City on Thursday night to clinch the wild card spot from the East Division, regardless of their final two games of the regular season against Kokomo.

The Miners won four of five games over the past three days against the Kings, with Justin Mitchell and Colby Johnson each recording three RBI on Thursday.

Following this weekend’s games with the Jackrabbits, the Miners will host Butler in game one of the best-of-three series for the East Division title.
